People started using stressed skin panels for construction as part of an attempt to conserve forest resources.
A small stressed skin house was constructed in Wisconsin, USA. It endured severe weather and was used by University of Wisconsin Madison until 1998.
Structural insulated panel development began when corrugated paperboard cores were tested with various skin materials, including plywood, tempered hardboard and treated paperboard.
Panels consisting of polystyrene core were used in a building and the panels have performed well to the present day.
The use of insulated panel as material for building construction was introduced to Indonesia by a multinational Australian building products company with their product: Bondor Insulated Panel Systems.
PT Bondor Indonesia was established to continue Bondor Insulated Panel business in Indonesia. PT Bondor Indonesia continues to consistently manufacture international quality products, locally. PT Bondor Indonesia has constructed a modern 13,000 m2 manufacturing facility called BONDOR 1, conveniently located at Sentul Industrial Estate. At that time, PT Bondor Indonesia used one EPS continuous line machine, with a production capacity of 500,000 m2 panel/year.
PT Bondor Indonesia registered (patented) the Slip Joint System at Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (Dirjen Hak Kekayaan Intelektual RI) with register No. ID 0 010 442-D.
PT Bondor Indonesia achieved the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certi cation issued by SAI Global, Australia. Our clients can be con dent that all materials and systems used during manufacture, fabrication and installation have passed stringent quality tests and met international standards. In this year, PT Bondor Indonesia added one continuous line machine that can produce panels with EPS and mineral wool cores, with a capacity of 600,000 m2 panel/year.
To expand the business of insulated panel, PT Bondor Indonesia started to build a new 10,000 m2 factory called BONDOR 2 in Sentul.
This new factory is set up with the first continuous line machine in Indonesia. The machine is able to produce PIR and PUR sandwich panels for roofing and walling of 600,000 m2/year. It can produce panels with lengths up to 12 meters and thickness from 50 mm up to 200 mm. Made entirely in Indonesia, with premium international standard and quality, the panels are offered in very competitive prices. Products of PT Bondor Indonesia are equipped with energy-saving and safety features while possessing fire resistant and fire retardant capabilities. With these 3 continuous line machines PT Bondor Indonesia has become the largest insulated panel manufacturer in Indonesia.
Bondor Indonesia Panels successfully achieved Sucofindo Certification. The national certificate ascertains that our panels have passed a series of tests such as load test, thickness test, melting point test of core panel, salt spray, fire rating and sound reduction test.
